Perspective

Conventional wisdom says one should focus on the journey, not the destination. I disagree.
Focus on the people.

Story

When I came across this excerpt, I immediately stopped in my tracks.

What a perspective.

It's not the destination, nor the journey, but the people.

I used to think solitude was strength, that grinding alone was the best way to grow. 

Subscribing to the macho “self-improvement” mindset, I focused solely on myself.

I thought I was on the right path - oh, how wrong I was.

As I started building relationships, I realized that strength doesn’t just come from pushing yourself. 

It comes from the energy of the people around you. 

Friends who keep you grounded, mentors who challenge your perspective, and people that push you to be better.

Last night, I went for a night run—but this time, I brought along a friend.

I ran with bro, and he made the run way more enjoyable.

We pushed each other to become better, talked and joked a shit ton, and soaked in the moment.

Looking back in retrospect, the reason why I am so grateful for my circumstances now, is due to the relationships I have forged with amazing people.

If you’re focused on chasing success, don’t forget to look around. 

Success means nothing without people to share it with.

Build relationships, foster connections, and watch how they elevate your life.

Remember, its who you become on the journey.
