Welcome to Shoshin, my journal of lessons from this journey we call "life".
Perspective
"If you aren't tired when you go to bed and excited when you wake up, you need a meaningful project that demands you at your best."
- Dan Koe
Story
most of us aren't living life, just existing.
that was me for majority of my life. I had no ambition, I was trapped in the general path given to us by our parents.
go to school, get good grades, get a job, retire.
nothing exciting, i would wake up tired and wasn't really looking forward to the day.
this was until i got into many different hobbies, and the one that give me a sense of fulfillment the most was building my website.
What i experienced was nothing short of beautiful, i would not even want to go sleep, because i was so ambitious on what i had to complete on my website first.
I would then wake up, driven, purposeful and get to work on my website.
it was a sight to behold.
then i ran out of material to implement, so i feel into a mundane path for 2 weeks.
Then one day, I woke up with the drive to start a something new, a charity (later deviated to a nonprofit).
i was excited for what this will become, just like the website, so my mind overflowed with ideas. Now, i have something to look forward to working on everyday, giving me clarity and joy.

So what changed? It wasn't the work but rather the meaning behind it. When i was building my website and cofounding a nonprofit, it gave me a sense of purpose that went beyond just going through the motions. I found a project that demanded my best, that pushed, challenged and excited me. It kept me up at night, I didn't even want to sleep.
A meaningful project is like fuel for the soul. It’s becomes your WHY. Instead of dragging yourself out of bed, you wake up with a fire ignited inside of you, ready to conquer the day.
Find that project. Find that thing that aligns with your passion and give meaning for to you life, and it will change. It doesn't need to be all planned out, you just need a vision.
Remember, its who you become on the journey.
Others.
